Guests using smartphones can open Google Maps – type Mai Chau Hideaway or click here for specific directions right to the entrance gate of Mai Chau Hideaway. The following instructions provide detailed guidance for various means of transportation to reach and relax at Mai Chau Hideaway.
1/ By private car/vehicle:
From Hanoi, take Tran Duy Hung Street – Thang Long Avenue - Hoa Lac. Upon reaching Hoa Lac, continue straight for 12 km towards the Ethnic Culture Village, then turn left onto the expressway to Hoa Binh.
Please pay attention to the speed limit zone near the expressway toll booth heading to Hoa Binh (currently in Quang Tien Commune, Hoa Binh City).
Arriving in Hoa Binh, turn left onto the bypass road to avoid the city center, and continue on National Route 6 (QL 6) via Cun Pass – Cao Phong.
(Cao Phong has a speed limit of 50 km/h for about 10 km).
Follow National Route 6 through Cao Phong - Arrive at Tan Lac where the first signboard is located - At Man Duc Three-Way Junction, turn right towards Son La:
This road route is suitable for vehicles with under 24 seats – passing through Ba Khan – through Muong villages – The lakeside road is ideal for exploring and enjoying panoramic views of Hoa Binh Lake from above.
(At the foot of Thung Khe Pass, turn at the Phu Cuong Junction – About 500m past the milestone indicating 186 km to Son La, turn right).
2/ Road route for large buses (24 to 35 seats):
Continue along National Route 6 towards Son La – until reaching the milestone 168 km to Son La – pass Tong Dau Three-Way Junction and turn right – at Dong Bang Three-Way Junction, turn right and go 8 km – pass Go Lao Waterfall and the bamboo forest.
After turning right at Dong Bang Three-Way Junction, continue until the junction indicating Phuc San – Ba Khan, then turn towards Ba Khan.
Continue for about 3 km past Go Lao Waterfall, and you will see the signboard pointing to Mai Chau Hideaway 200m away.
A parking area for vehicles from 4 to 30 seats is available right up to the gate of Mai Chau Hideaway.
3/ Daily Mini Bus to Mai Chau Hideaway (12 - 16 seats)
Outbound route: Hanoi – Mai Chau Hideaway.
There are 3 fixed pick-up points in Hanoi:
– 07:00: Pick-up starts at Hilton Fountain.
– 07:15: Pick-up at Hang Da Market Gate.
– 08:00: Pick-up at National Convention Center Gate on Thang Long Avenue.

4/ By fixed-route passenger bus departing from My Dinh or Yen Nghia bus stations
Take a passenger bus departing from My Dinh or Yen Nghia bus station – request to get off at Dong Bang or Tong Dau Three-Way Junction (now Mai Chau Commune), then contact Mai Chau Hideaway to help hire a taxi or motorbike taxi.
