In the upcoming holidays, travelers looking for an interesting and new tourist destination near Hanoi can come to Hoa Binh province for a memorable trip to explore, experience, and relax.
Explore the magnificence of Hoa Binh Lake
Experiencing Hoa Binh lake tourism by boat, travelers take a boat from the dock next to the site of Mai Chau Hideaway Lake Resort to experience the poetic and majestic nature of the Da River landscape, explore the tourist destinations on both sides of the Da River, including Ngoi Hoa Bay, Nha Be Thai Cuu, Chua Thac Bo Temple, lakeside caves, Coconut Island - Chong Island... This is the route chosen by many domestic and international tourists when coming to Mai Chau Hideaway.
The tourism site of Hoa Binh Lake is located in the area of Hoa Binh hydroelectric lake, Vietnam's largest manmade lake, with a water surface area of 8,000 hectares and a capacity of nearly 9.5 billion m3 of water. Hoa Binh Lake has 47 big and small islands scattered, creating an amazing ecosystem that has been compared to a "miniature Ha Long" on land in the Northwest.
Along with admiring tourist attractions on both sides of the Da River, travelers can observe and experience the living habits as well as the preservation of ethnic cultural identity in the Northwest upland region in each stilted house with ancient cultural values.
A new highlight for the Hoa Binh Lake travel experience
Exploring the Hoa Binh lake bed has become a new experience, drawing both local and foreign tourists. So, what's new about the Mai Chau Hideaway tour "Scenery of Hoa Binh Lake"? Let's follow Mai Chau Hideaway to find out how the trip to Hoa Binh Lake is as follows:
Thai Cuu raft house
The journey begins at the dock next to the resort, and the first stop for tourists is the Thai Cuu raft house, where caged fish farming has been developed in the center of Hoa Binh Lake. The owner of Thai Cuu Raft House will invite visitors to see more than 40 cages of different types of fish on a professional scale. Visitors can learn how to feed fish in cages using big and professional food scoops here. Moreover, guests may buy fish here to bring back as a gift from Hoa Binh.
Ngoi Hoa Bay
After visiting the Thai Cuu raft house, tourists take a boat and head to Ngoi Hoa Bay, one of the most stunning bays situated in the heart of Hoa Binh Lake, in the Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh Province. Everyone will fall in love with the charming, pristine, poetic, and gorgeous natural beauty on their first visit. Don't forget to capture a lot of wonderful check-in photos on the boat when you're "lost" in the middle of "Ha Long Bay on land."
Caves by the lake
Visitors will explore the caves around the lake after leaving Ngoi Hoa Bay. Hoa Binh not only possesses poetic and charming sceneries, but also has numerous magnificent and untouched caverns. The trip brings guests to caves such as:
Hoa Tien Cave: A huge "natural" stone curtain isolates the two big caves here. The main cave is 61 meters long and 27 meters wide, and it consists of many shaped rocks. At the top are soft drooping stalactites. The second cave is smaller, measuring only 12 meters wide and 60 meters long. Visitors are surprised by discovering stone "terraced fields" in the middle of the cave with a shallow lake that contributes to the scenery.
Thac Bo Cave: Another tourist attraction in Ngoi Hoa commune, Thac Bo Cave is a popular site for travelers seeking spiritual tourism. The cave has three sections: the cave, the reception area, and the Buddha worship area. There are several stalactite blocks in the cave that are shaped like carp turning into dragons, as well as golden and silver trees, a rock band, and gongs. This location attracts visitors and large groups of worshippers every year in the second lunar month. The tourists visit Thac Bo cave to pray for peace, luck, or money.
Thien Long Cave: Thien Long Cave is located in Lac Luong commune (Yen Thuy district) and is separated into a major cave and two smaller caves. The main cave resembles a magnificent castle. Going deep inside are layers of stalactites arranged in many layers like stairs. Two tiny caverns lie right next to it, and within are rock formations that resemble a falling waterfall or layered coral carpets.
Da Bac Cave: Da Bac Cave is located in the heart of Pai Day Mountain (Lien Son commune, Luong Son district) and consists of three tiny caves: Co Tien Cave, Long Tien Cave and Mau Cave. The entrance to Co Tien Cave is through the main cave gate; inside, you'll admire stone blocks in a variety of intriguing shapes, including toads and turtles. The ceiling, in particular, has stalactites that hang down and make melody when softly tapped. Additionally, water that is dripping from the cave's ceiling has formed a tiny lake. Through Co Tien cave is Long Tien cave, where an ensemble of stalactites looks like a castle. And the last one is the Mau cave with stalactites in the forms of Saint Giong, Thach Sanh... and the tower - where many antiques are kept by the people.
Coconut Island, also known as Xung Island, is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Hoa Binh Lake
After discovering some of Hoa Binh Lake's caves, visitors get on a boat and arrive at Coconut Island. One of the most stunning islands in the Hoa Binh Lake region is Coconut Island. It is situated next to the Thac Bo temple, a spiritual tourism site, in the Vay Nua commune of the Da Bac highlands district. Approximately 10 hectares in size, the island harmonizes wonderfully with the hydroelectric lake's water and the blue sky. When seen from afar on the lake, Coconut Island is hidden in the lushness of trees and immense rivers, leading many who have never been here to believe that it is just a small island floating on the lake. People who first visit the island are amazed to see a series of large stilt houses built in the Muong and Thai people's traditional style of architecture. Tourists may take a stroll around the island, observe the garden, and pick as many mangoes, persimmons, longans, litchis, and star fruits as they want. They can also sail themselves to nearby islands. On the island, spaces to serve guests are rationally arranged between the open area with a panoramic view of a lake corner and surrounding islands.
Following the tour to Coconut Island, it's time to get on the boat to head back to Mai Chau Hideaway Lake Resort to rest and have dinner.
Hopefully, the above sharing of Mai Chau Hideaway gives visitors an overview of the trip to explore Hoa Binh Lake by boat.
